The celebrations resume with the sound of drums on Thursday, April 25th, marking the beginning of the 42nd edition of the Artichoke Festival of Cerda, starting at 9:30 AM, with a parade by the folk group I carrettieri città di Cerda along Via Roma to Piazza La Mantia, where shortly after, the Bersaglieri will arrive for a tribute to the National Liberation Day. After a choral greeting from the mayor, Salvo La Rosa and Giusy Battaglia will kick off a multisensory journey on the Carciofo Spinoso Cerdese, narrating the traditional dishes, a heritage of the families of Cerda. The afternoon will feature comedy by I Quattro Gusti, Uccio De Santis, and the energy of the Sbandieratori di Caccamo and Gruppo Marchesato. Finally, at 8:00 PM, the video mapping dedicated to the myth of Cynara will be re-projected.
10:30 AM – Parade along Via Roma by the folk group I carrettieri di Cerda;
1:00 PM – Giusi Battaglia, the event’s sponsor, opens the tasting of dishes based on the Cerda spiny artichoke;
2:00 PM – Games, musical entertainment, and group dances by Roby D’Antoni and Tony Paola;
4:30 PM – Cabaret show with I Quattro Gusti;
7:00 PM – Cabaret show with Uccio De Santis.
